Peugeot claims the e-5008 exceeds expectations in the C-SUV category with a unique seven-seat seating arrangement and the class's longest range.
Dimensions
With dimensions of 4,790 x 1,890 x 1,690 mm and a wheelbase of 2,890 mm, the vehicle is more in the larger SUV category. The e-5008 offers an impressive boot capacity of 748 litres in the five-seat version, 1,815 litres in the two-seat version and 259 litres in the seven-seat version. Unfortunately, it lacks a front trunk (frunk), a common feature on many electric vehicles.
Peugeot points out that the 5008 was designed from the ground up as an electric model, but the STLA Medium platform is not specifically designed for EVs, as the 5008 will also be available in plug-in hybrid and mild-hybrid versions, raising questions about possible trade-offs.
Powertrain and batteries
The e-5008 comes in different power outputs. The front-wheel drive versions offer 157 and 170 kW with 345 Nm of torque. The AWD version has a combined output of 237 kW (157 kW front and 80 kW rear), with 345 Nm of torque for the front and 170 Nm for the rear. The only battery capacity mentioned is 98 kWh (400V, NMC), indicating a range of 500 to 660 km according to WLTP. A smaller battery with a capacity of 73 kWh can also be expected to be offered.
Charging and technology
The E-5008 supports charging with a maximum charging power of 160 kW, enabling a recharge from 20% to 80% in 30 minutes. The on-board charger has a standard output of 11 kW, with the option to upgrade to 22 kW.Equipment includes a large 21-inch display split between a digital dashboard and a touchscreen infotainment system that is compatible with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The model also offers integrated ChatGPT.
