Hyundai introduces the Ioniq 5 N eN1 Cup, an electric racing edition that forms the basis of an upcoming racing series. This sports-oriented variant of the Ioniq 5 incorporates technical innovations such as a virtual transmission, simulated engine sound and modified chassis and brakes, making it an exciting racing machine.
Modifications include a partial racing conversion - from special slick tyres, to aerodynamic body modifications including bumper and fender modifications, to weight reduction and enhanced safety of the car's structure for racing use. Thanks to the protective roll cage, racing seat and seat belts, driver safety is ensured at the highest possible level. Safety measures include a mandatory fire extinguishing system.
The vehicle maintains its original electronic architecture of the Ioniq 5 N and offers a total maximum power output of 478 kW, split between the front engine (166 kW) and the rear axle (282 kW), while the battery capacity remains at 84 kWh.
To support this unique racing Hyundai has established a new racing series that will be regulated by and managed by the newly formed Group N in collaboration with International Automobile Federation (FIA), providing ensuring compliance with racing rules and standards.
