Volkswagen expands the ID family with the sporty ID.4 GTX

The GTX version is the new flagship of the ID. series, it is the first model with all-wheel drive.

The GTX version is the new flagship of the ID. series, it is the first model with all-wheel drive, thanks to a one electric motor on each axle. Total maximum power output is 220 kW.

Acceleration to 100 km/h is 6.2 seconds. This is more than 2 seconds better than the rear-wheel drive version with 150 kW (8.5 seconds). The top speed has increased from 160 to 180 km/h.

The range has been reduced by 40 km from 520 to 480 km compared to the standard version.

  • the ID.4 GTX effortlessly climbed a ramp at an incline of 37.5%

  • 0 to 60 km/h in 3.2 seconds and from 0 to 100 km/h in 6.2 seconds

  • top speed is electronically limited to 180 km/h


The ID.4 GTX will be launched in Europe in summer 2021. In Germany, it will start at an entry-level price of 50,415 euros, with customers being able to apply for a (net) grant of 7,500 euros.
